Sometimes our mojo is WORKIN', like when we feel unstoppable, clear-minded, funny, in control of our path and emotions, fired up, motivated, passionate, and tingling with joy! Ooh, I just love it when life seems effortless like that. But what happens when those feelings are nowhere to be found? Where'd that mojo go? Maybe it's stuck in between the cushions of the couch!
It may feel like your life went from effortless to difficult in one fell swoop, but usually it's a "cocktail" of habits that you've been practicing that have put you in this slump. Things like:
Lack of sleep
Too much stress
Too many to-do's
Eating too much processed crap, sugar, and/or deep fried foods
Habit of negative thinking
Focusing on what you don't want versus what you do want
Not enough time outdoors
Forgetting about self-care
Not drinking enough water
Drinking too much alcohol (too many days in a row)
Not enough body movement (aka exercise!)
So what do you do to get your mojo back?
The good news is it's super easy once you shift your focus and become a mojo detective! Ask yourself if any of the above habits have been ingredients in your cocktail. If so, commit 3 days to get back on track. Yes, you read right! In just 3 days, if you make it your mission to stick to it, you will ignite your MOJO again and be on your way to being that unstoppable firecracker you were meant to be. Promise yourself to do the following for 3 days. You can do ANYTHING for 3 days, right?:
Sleep at least 7- 8 hours a night (never underestimate the power of good sleep!)
Start the day with two things: 1. Be grateful for something2. Positive intention (e.g. Today I intend to be productive and creative)
Eat REAL FOOD and ditch the processed pseudo-food (especially sugar!)
Get outside and breathe fresh air
Drink half your body weight in ounces of pure water (e.g. if you weigh 130 lbs., you'll drink 65 oz.)
Take at least 10 mins for yourself throughout the day to rest, read, relax, breathe, reflect
Cut the alcohol out (even wine and beer) for at least 3 days
Move your body! Take a walk, do yoga, go for a run, stretch, play a sport. Anything you want, but your body is dying to MOVE
Shift your focus from what you don't want to what you do want (e.g. "I'm so worried that I won't make enough money this month to pay my bills." Instead: "What is one thing I can do to create extra money this month?")
Laugh! Watch a funny movie, hang out with fun people, tell a joke, lighten up!
Being healthy is about more than just eating broccoli. It's about a lifestyle of habits that keep you on the path of your goals.
